Created to mark the 40th anniversary of Aliens (1986), this piece is both a tribute and a personal reflection on one of the film franchises that shaped me most deeply growing up.
For many fans, the first two films defined everything that made Alien singular: tension, dread, mystery, and a creature governed purely by instinct and survival. Over the decades, however, the franchise evolved in directions that have often divided its audience.
This illustration was born from that tension.
By merging two completely opposing worlds into a single image, I wanted to create a visual metaphor for what can happen when a raw, uncompromising idea gets absorbed into something far larger and more commercial. It's not meant as an attack — rather, it's a personal commentary from someone who grew up in awe of the original Alien universe.
Like much of my work, this piece blends nostalgia, pop culture, humor, and a quiet touch of criticism. It is a celebration of Aliens, and at the same time, a reminder of why those original films left such a lasting mark on an entire generation.
To honor the occasion, only 40 hand-signed and numbered copies have been produced — one for each year since the film's release.
