Lamborghini Huracán Evo Spyder

A unique Art-Car made in Passion

Text by Dani Blasco from CAR Magazine.

Saturno and Lamborghini Barcelona come together to create a one-off art car: the Ephemeral Tengu.

This is not the first time that a Lamborghini is transformed into an art car by an international artist. However, Saturno’s work is special, and the story behind the scenes makes this project one of a kind. This project is a dream come true for Saturno, the international artist who has not only been a fan of the brand since he was a kid. He has always felt inspired by Ferrucio´s vision and pursuit of it.

“we do not meet people by accident they are meant to cross our path for a reason”

Kathryn Perez

A few months ago, Saturnoended up in a Lamborghini event after joining a friend who owns a Murcielago. He couldn’t miss the opportunity to be surrounded by his dream cars. There he met Pau Coll, director of Lamborghini Barcelona, with whom a great connection was soon created. As a result of this “accident”, they end up having a great idea. Transform an amazing Huracan Evo Spyder into a unique piece of art “...Lamborghini must remain a dream…”.Only after a few very intense days after kicking off the idea, did the project become a reality: The Ephemeral Tengu.

Lamborghini Huracán Evo Spyder: the perfect canvas

The agreed model for art car transformation was the Huracán Evo Spyder, with its characteristic Gandinilineand style is the roofless body, a unique canvas to express art.

Work with a unique style

Saturno's style is very distinctive, as Lamborghini's designs their language style is always recognizable. With only a few lines anyone will identify any of Lamborghini designs in history. Saturno´s proposal is also unmistakable. His art, starring mythological creatures and fictional animals painted with an extreme level of detail, is simply unique.

The Ephemeral TenguHuracánEvo Spyder is no exception, with some naughty supernatural creatures, so calledTengus, between the blue sky and the red lava. The sky represents the purity of the soul as opposed to the power represented by the lava, of course, located in the engine area. The resulting balance of these opposite worlds is an amazing explosion of emotion and colors on Huracán's bodywork.

This spectacular work has taken Saturnomany sunrises to sunsets “possessed” by Ferruccio´s drive, using his sprays and airbrush thecar´’s body at his improvised studio in Malgrat de Mar full of “flow”.

The visual power of the work and the shape of the Huracáncombined with its performance result in a unique super sports ART car.

With an unstoppable track that has led him to reach big success all over the world, Saturno is a self-taught artist. Currently, his works can be seen in different parts of the world. From art galleries in New York to Marvel movies or even in Geneva, where a one-off watch by David Candaux with a Saturno dial was recently auctioned as part of Only Watch, with the winning auction reaching 150,000 Swiss francs. With the Ephemeral Tengu, Saturno has seen one of his life dreams come true, painting a Lamborghini.

Lamborghini and Saturno: Two stories with some similarities

We all know Ferruccio Lamborghini´s Story and how he created the company. Son of farmers, and a tractor manufacturer, this successful businessman created his sports car project only after having a big disagreement with Enzo Ferrari and his cars.

The resulting anger turned into determination and stubbornness on Don Ferruccio’s side to build his own sports car that would “be better than the Cavallino”. Despite no one thought, this would be a successful project, Lamborghini surpassed its initial objective in a short time, becoming one of the best sports car manufacturers in the world that has written its history in capital letters. Besides the advanced engineering, its design, shaped by the Gandini lines since the beginning, has given Lamborghini a completely recognizable image.

Saturno is also a son of a farmer.

Although his “natural” path would have taken him to work in the fields, his passion and stubbornness have taken him down a far more exciting path. He was always good at painting, and despite not receiving much support to make of his passion his profession, Saturno´spersonal determination to succeed with his unconventional style of art has brought him to be a recognized international artist, true to his own style. Just as no one would expect a tractor manufacturer to end up building some of the best sports cars in the world, Saturno has also managed to come out of the field to shine internationally with his out-of-ordinary art language proposal.

“The Ephemeral Tengu is the sum of both the unique essence of one and the other, a masterpiece that takes the art to the road”

“I wanted this car just for me. It was always a dream and must remain a dream”
